It covers the background to the boom of the 1920s; US society and economy in the 1920s and 1930s, including the Great Depression, the New Deal and US foreign policy up to Pearl Harbor.
This course covers events in Germany from 1918 to 1941.
We examine the years of the Weimar Republic (1918-1933) and the years under the Nazi regime until 1941.
The central questions is: How did the most liberal and democratic country in the world degenerate into one of the most despotic and tyrannical regimes of the 20th Century?
